trick or treat?

Easily one of my favorite holidays. Scary movies + dressing up + candy = pure awesome!

Mille Fleurs Floral Design: An Elegant Wedding at Cescaphe Atrium in Philadelphia

Occasionally I get the opportunity to photograph a wedding for another vendor. This is particularly great because I have the ability to focus on one aspect of the day and really get the most out of it. Earlier this month I came in for Ilonka and Margaux of Mille Fleurs Floral Design for the wedding of Elizabeth and Andrew.

This incredible wedding was held at the Cescaphe Atrium at the Curtis Center in Philadelphia. If you've stepped foot in this place you know that it's an exquisite venue. Overhead is a glass ceiling 12 stories up. Underfoot is an elegant black and white marble floor. There's a two story waterfall fountain and billowing, white fabric surrounds you. It's certainly a sight to behold.

The Mille Fluers team did it justice and then some. Their creations fit the location perfectly and put the event over the edge to spectacular. The colors were soft whites and pale pinks with woodland greens. See for yourself:

These lovely additions capped the rows of chairs for the ceremony.

The rustic wooden trellis was beautiful, boasting blooms of roses, lisiantus, ivy, hydrangea, baby's breath, curly willow and so much more.

The bouquets and ceremony were just appetizers for what Mille Fluers had in store for the reception. The mother of the bride literally gasped when she walked in and saw the transformation. It was unreal. Balls of dainty flowers and candles hung from metal trees on every table. Pastel green silk table linens for the perfect accent. Each centerpiece was soft and delicate but combined to make a breathtaking view.

The stage and trellis were re-commissioned for the lovely petal-adorned cake.

It was gorgeous. Margaux and Ilonka wowed everyone. Stunning!

Katie + Seth: Fall Wedding at St. Anastasia & the Willows

Perhaps you'll remember Katie and Seth from their lovely e-session we did in Chestnut Hill a few months ago. If their e-session was lovely, their wedding was incredible. There was so much laughter (thanks Elizabeth, Mary, and Steph) and the weather was utterly perfect. Perfect temperature, just enough puffy clouds, just enough wind.

We started the day at The Willows in Radnor as the girls were getting ready and rocking out to Lady Gaga. There were tons of beautiful details, like the necklace and garter that Katie found on Etsy. (The gorgeous garter was made from an old antique brooch, new silk, lace borrowed from a dress, and blue silk.)

I fell in love with the florals. Flowers by Priscilla did a tremendous job with pink roses, purple waxflower, eucalyptus leaves, purple stock, and blue delphinium. Katie's bouquet was soft and dainty while the other girls had bolder colors with deeper pink roses and purple statice.

Let me tell you that Katie's dress was the perfect dress for the petite bride. It fit her like a glove. Her makeup was flawless, her curly hair was accented with small pieces of waxflower, and she looked stunning.

The ceremony was held at St. Anastasia's Church in Newtown Square.

I love this last glance between father and daughter before they walked down the aisle.

Flowergirl Jaylyn made quite an impression on a certain guest…

And didn't I mention that the girls were an absolute hoot?

We had some time when we returned to the Willows for pictures of the freshly married couple down by the pond. I adore the huge, um, willow tree there.

The geese were not incredibly welcoming but I'd have to say that they were the only unpleasant pieces of the day.

Katie and Seth had their first dance to John Hiatt's "Have a Little Faith in Me" in the glassed-in observatory, surrounded by their friends and family. They had obviously practiced a few moves.

Perfect Setting Catering provided a scrumptious spread with risotto, meat, and vegetable stations.

And I had never before seen a cake like theirs. It was a 4 tier confection by Sweet Jazmines with a sugared blueberry trail down the front.

Thanks to Bucky Scott, guests were still having a blast on the dance floor as my awesome second shooter, Gary, and I left.

What a fantastic day. Katie and Seth, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of it!

You see time, time is our friend
Cause for us, there is no end
And all you gotta do, is have a little faith in me
