Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | Top of the Tower | Lindsay + Steve

I feel like Lindsay and Steve’s wedding should have happened ages ago. I met with them over a year and a half before their wedding day and was in close contact with Lindsay going over all of the details and ideas that she had for it. I was thrilled when the day finally arrived. You might remember them from the engagement session that took us all over Drexel’s campus, where they first met.

Everything went down at Philadelphia’s gorgeous Top of the Tower. It was a stunningly clear day and the views from the 50th floor were incredible. Lindsay and the ladies were a cool group, laughing and hanging out before the ceremony. Lindsay wore her grandmother’s blue ring (her old, borrowed, and blue), a delicate pearl bracelet, and some kick ass lace shoes (as a back story, Lindsay went all around NYC for the perfect shoes only to go back home to Texas and find these beauties).


A thing about Lindsay – despite planning this shindig for the better part of two years, she’s simply awesome. Not one hint of bridezilla. She and Steve created this gorgeous event under the theme, “Timeless Love” and just had a great day. Lindsay designed, printed, and screenprinted all of the paper products for the wedding. Not only is she creative and drop dead gorgeous, Lindsay has the absolute greatest expressions too. You’ll see.




Her sister told Lindsay her dress looked like whipped cream (in the best possible way, of course). The Winnie Couture gown fit her like a glove. She had tried on several others but just couldn’t get this one out of her head.


Her headband was a lovely piece from Twigs and Honey.


The ceremony was held in the Stonorov Room, presided over by the family’s minister from Connecticut. Lindsay gracefully descended the stairs and was escorted by her brother to her grinning groom.







Following there ceremony, we took some pictures on the ground floor out by the fountain and then headed over to Logan Square (but seriously, it’s a circle) with the bridal party.









Cocktails and hors d’oeurves were served in the Grand Hallway while guests played around at the Oh, snap! Studio. I loved the seating cards – classy slips that were posted to a blackboard with vintage-looking black and white magnets. Chalkboard accents were seen all over that day.


The tables were set in an arrangement of rounds and squares with centerpieces of soft roses in mason jars and an array of over 30 vintage clocks that Lindsay had collected over the months. Engineer friends were tinkering with them all night long.



Once inside the Furness Room, guests dined and listened to beautiful and heartfelt speeches before being surprised with a slideshow of images featuring Lindsay, Steve, family, and friends over the years. (As a side note, Top of the Tower had some of the best wedding food this vegetarian has ever had.)







Dinner ended and we moved down the hall to witness Lindsay and Steve’s first dance to Sam Cooke’s “Nothing Can Change this Love”.



And of course there was cake cutting…



We just had to get a picture of all of the Drexel people!



What an incredible wedding. Everything came together so beautifully. I’m sure so many hours went into it but it all looked so effortless. Lindsay and Steve, so many congratulations! It kills me that you two live so far away but definitely let me know whenever you come to town.

Jessica and Camren were married on the beach in Long Branch, NJ this past weekend. Their wedding was nothing short of joyous, emotional, and completely wonderful. More soon!

SWP Whose Table is it Anyway? 2011 Event

I was the photographer for this year’s Whose Table is it Anyway? tabletop competition presented by the Society of Wedding Planners and held at the incredible Phoenixville foundry. This competition pits some of the most creative individuals in the area against one another to create amazing tabletop displays in four separate categories: Weddings under $10,000 budget, Weddings over $10,000 budget, Theme, and Rising Star.

A few things about the event… The Phoenixville Foundry, about 40 miles northwest of Philadelphia is a gorgeous venue. I want to shoot a wedding there now. The architecture, history, and versatility of the place make it such a dream. It has great flow and space (indoors and outdoors) for ceremonies as well as a wrap around mezzanine level which is so clutch for weddings. Seriously consider this place for a wedding and then call me because I want to be a part of it.




J. Scott Catering provided the evening’s food. There was a tasty sushi station and a delicious mini sliders (beef, portabella, and crabcake), fries, and milkshake station. I don’t even want to tell you how many of those itty bitty portabella burgers I scarfed down that night.

Entertainment was provided by Brandywine Valley Talent who had music going all night, including a serenade and some performances by the A Capella Pops. Too cool.



Additional shout outs to Frank’s Wine Mart for providing the beverages, Sound Choice DJs, Shutterbooth, Blossom Productions for documenting the evening with video, Wegmans Collegeville for providing everything for the on-site design competition, and Party Rental, LTD for offering up their entire collection to the participants.

As for the tabletop displays, they were out of this world. I took so many pictures and there were so many details that you simply should have been there to take it all in.

It was an awesome event. SWP raised over $800 for the Gift of Life Family House, guests were treated to a surprise fireworks display, and there was an on-site floral design competition for wedding professionals (congrats to Christina Carnevale of Paper, Rock, Scissors for first place!). I can’t wait to see what next year’s event brings!
